Alisha McKinney
Artist & Art Instructor Alisha McKinney is a Philadelphia-based visual artist and graduate of the School of Visual Arts (SVA), where she began developing her artistic practice through painting and mixed media sculpture. Her work explores the quiet undercurrent of anxiety that she and many people experience, while also offering a sense of hope and reassurance that these feelings don't define us. Through her work, Alisha invites viewers to sit with those familiar feelings and find something relatable and comforting.
Alongside her studio practice, Alisha works as a youth art instructor, where she is committed to creating space for young people to discover their own creativity. She hopes to remind others that art has the ability to make us feel a little less alone and can give each of the voice to express what we might otherwise struggle to find the words to say. |
